This edition of “52 Weeks” is coming to you a little later than expected, in part because of what feels like a never-ending summer of travel for reasons both personal and professional.
This morning, I’m sitting in the lobby of a LaQuinta Inn & Suites in Portland, Texas, just outside Corpus Christi, hoping against hope that my 83-year-old mother does not make it down before I finish. It’s a long story — one explained in part in the “How I Spent My Summer” essay published earlier this week — that’s worth a moment if you’re looking for something to read.
But in the interest of time — my mom is walking down the hallway from the elevator as I write this — let’s get to the week’s photos, all taken from my photography archives.
Each photo has a short caption that includes the place and month/year it was taken. I hope you’ll pick your favorite(s) and let me know your thoughts. I’m happy to provide additional context on any of the photos in the comments section. Also, if you are interested in purchasing a print or the non-exclusive rights to one of the digital images, please contact me via email.
All these photos are stunning! I also love the way the clouds hover above the delineated landscape below in the first image. I'm assuming the tiger is from the zoo?
That window seat photo!! 😍😍 I also love the flock of birds and the trees.
