You’d think the “50th” of anything would be worth celebrating, and in most instances it is. But when you’re in the midst of year-long series of images, with just two more to go until the promise is fulfilled, 50 seems somewhat anticlimactic.
So instead of celebrating, let’s just ride the wave.
This is our second all black-and-white edition of “52 Weeks” this year. To see the first, go here:
One last note…
As this year-long project nears its calendar-determined conclusion, I’m planning to talk more about project’s future in our next edition. But to help determine what that is, I hope you’ll take a moment to answer any/all of the questions in the comments below:
Format: Does the “52 Weeks” format — seven random images, with a cutline featuring information on when and where they were taken — work well?
Frequency: Is this something that you would enjoy more once or twice a month, or does weekly work best? Is it better to receive it early on the weekend (currently around 9 a.m. Saturdays?) or does the day of the week matter?
Would the occasional loose “theme” (a collection of sunrises, examples of urban decay, from the strange to the utterly weird) be worth exploring or should these posts continue to just be random?
Any and all feedback is, of course, appreciated. For now, I hope you’ve enjoyed this Saturday’s “52 Weeks.”
Always hard to choose but there's something about that lobby picture that grabs me. I like the weekly format, what particular day doesn't really matter to me but I would enjoy some themes!
I love all of these so much...ESPECIALLY Harlem...those lights strung across the street are gorgeously atmospheric. If I didn't glance at the date I would think its Harlem in its jazzy heyday. I look forward to whatever iteration the 52 Weeks takes for you; it's a feature I thoroughly enjoy whenever it hits. Sorry that is not at all helpful! Enjoy the season and happy snapping! X!
