A heartbreaking and heartwarming story, Glenn, very well written! We got to know a talented musician few (including me) knew anything about, and maybe only thought of around the Holidays. Someday, someone will recognize Bonnie Raitt for being the national treasure she is and has been for her dedication to bringing a spotlight and attention to the groundbreaking blues players for decades, most notably, the ones you mention, plus Sippie Wallace.
Your article inspires me to finally tackle my article on meeting Bonnie, backstage, when she was about 21, and I was in high school, 6 years her junior!
