Thank you for writing this, Glenn. Mental illness is real and you told the story with honesty and love. Your family---every one of you---clearly came out of those hardest times as stronger, more unified people. This was very instructive for me. Kate sounds like a wonderful woman.
Thanks so much for sharing this. My son is being diagnosed with inattentive ADHD. It helps to hear about how other parents have had to cope with similar issues.
You knocked it out of the park with this, Glenn. Thank you for sharing Kate's journey -- and yours, of course -- and for the deep generosity and wisdom you offer to others.
Thank you for sharing. It is important for others to see the struggle and know they arent alone.
Parenting a child with ADHD and other learning disorders as I have done is tough. There were many times where I was definitely the worst parent but you do the best you can.
You struggled through and can see the difficult times were worth it in seeing your child succeed.
Life isn’t easy and parenting isn't for the weak!! As always your writings are wonderful. This one especially because I love the happy ending. But it’s not the end, is it? Only a part of Emma’s beautiful journey!! God Bless her and may she continue to have amazing days ahead!!
Be well friend, my best to you and your lovely bride.
I met the ‘wonderful with kids’ Kate—she was my daughters’ TA at an MSA Summer Camp in Lorton. The girls loved her, and Kate made their week extra special with a post-camp trip to the local Sweet Frog when I was stuck in traffic attempting to make my way down I-95.
Thank you and Kate for sharing. I hope that your words reach others who are struggling in their diagnosis and show them there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope Kate continues on her upward journey and enjoys a happy, fulfilling life. Happy anniversary to Kate and Matthew!
Thank you for sharing your parenting challenge and lovely photos. We love Kate and wish them both an very happy anniversary as the grow and thrive.
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment.

Your exquisite offering is matched only by your exquisite daughter and your entire family who all struggled together in the name of “love”.
Thank you.
