That was the only thing I liked about the pandemic was that everything was closed and there weren’t many people out. Of course that meant people lost their jobs, etc. myself included, and it took a long time to get Unemployment . I finally did though. If we could live through that we could live through the current climate of America.

The current climate feels like a bad sequel.

COVID was devastating to my freelance business because I shoot a number of events and conferences to pay the bills. The reason I walked so much that first year was because, for a large part of it, I had no work to do while my spouse was working 12-14 hour days.

Same with me I walked a lot every single day because I was unemployed and the only bonus was that I got a lot of nature photos and I lost a lot of weight and I was pretty healthy. Chris and I didn’t get Covid until a year ago. Now we both have long Covid symptoms. I have the worst asthma I’ve ever had in my life every day. Chris’s atrial fibrillation was affected, unfortunately. However, his condition is being maintained with medication.

I'm so sorry to hear about your health issues. Chronic asthma is no fun; good to hear that your husband has good medication, though.

Great that you got to see NY empty! I kept thinking throughout lockdown how much I wanted to walk the streets of London, all day every day, and capture all the architectural gems without a mass of tourists. But I didn’t and I so regret it…

Over the course of the first year of COVID, I went back to New York several times, the first time in May. Times Square was empty — at least by comparison — for so long. Very strange.
